Sunday School 8 hours, 42 minutes agoOne of my clients is a large Dublin hospital. If I do have to travel to site, I aim to be there during lunch hour. A very good quality meal for $5 (staff canteen).
As for the Irish Star, do not be fooled by the humble tabloid layout, the celebrity-adjacent headlines, or the general impression that the editorial meeting takes place inside a…[Read more]

Sunday School 11 hours, 54 minutes ago……and some commentary by me and then edited by AI.
1. Federal assumption of state debts
The federal government took on the Revolutionary War debts of the states. This was politically explosive, but brilliant. It made creditors loyal to the federal government rather than just to individual states. In plain English: Hamilton tied the moneyed…[Read more] -

Sunday School 11 hours, 58 minutes ago@Enco – Yes, I found the Commentary article to be a very good read.
Here is another one I read recently. Taken directly from the Irish Times, July 4th. Written by David McWilliams, an Irish economist.
It’s impossible to imagine the world without the dollar.
The American republic is 250 years old today. On this auspicious anniversary, the s…[Read more]

Sunday School 1 day, 8 hours agoIsraelis have excelled in lots of things.
Countering the Jew hating racism is not among those things. In fact just abhorrent. I proferred the explanation some time ago having first read it from an Israeli and having it corroborated a few times since. It is essentially we are not going to defend ourselves to morons. I guess it would be akin to an…[Read more]

Chumpsky is top dog charlatan. One Jew hater referred me and i critiqued him. Jew haters love Jew haters who are Jewish. Makes em feel warm and fuzzy. Justified too. Spin cast sophistry and Mehdi aint too bad at it. I listen to Casper the unfriendly blond basket. Algos have her on rewind. She is comical in her vituperative rebuttals and…[Read more]

I didn’t post their new release “Ritual” because I don’t love. I don’t dislike it either, I just take it in as part of TW’s evolution, and I still believe they’re doing what they want to do, not just following orders from above.
Meanwhile, almost all of the all of the reactions I’ve seen have come in strongly loving it, including first time TW…[Read more]

Sunday School 3 days, 22 hours agoAnd if we’re to benefit from these proteins, we’d best get cracking and use AI and Ion Mass Spectrometry to observe and possibly craft these proteins as needed.
Understanding protein chains is one of the greatest initial accomplishments of AI. Before AI we had a very small library of knowledge on the structure of protein chains. Some sci…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 days, 11 hours agoI was surprised to read that Ireland is to consider decriminalizing the possession of all drugs for personal use. I have smoked weed throughout my adult life (a few times a year) and nobody cares about it. But I suspect the religious objectors will be out in force again even though they keep losing (marriage equality, abortion, divorce). It will…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 days, 12 hours agoThanks Jake.
Enco –
The key line in the WHO article is “There is no form of alcohol consumption that is risk-free” and that even low levels carry some risk and can cause harm. I would contend that there is no safe amount of alcohol. There are only lower-risk amounts. For health, the optimal amount is none. That does not mean one drink will ruin…[Read more]

Sunday School 4 days, 22 hours agoNick Fish, President of American Atheists; So, today, in celebration of the Fourth and in honor of the “confirmed infidel” and “howling atheist” who penned our Declaration, let’s consider Thomas Jefferson’s actual words:
“It does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.”

The Purists are losing: How American Catholic are rewriting the rules.
I have yet to hear a Christian Nationalist who is not a just a paltry liar for Jesus while I think Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia is an honorable man.

Sunday School 1 week agoYeah Enco i don’t say AI is ready for the task. How it will progress i have no way of knowing. I have not seen anything that leads me to believe it is prepared to replace us in important political roles. What i do know is humans are almost universally incapable and venal.

Sunday School 1 week agoInteresting “Wordle Entropy” strategy. I would work more will the Viterbi model where – “Given the observations I already have, what is the single most likely hidden sequence?” It is a more abductive approach. Beam Search is another you look for the most promising candidates (tokens) to continue exploring. I guess they are cousins of Bayesian approaches.
